Part 1 - Note Structure, Intro to Minor Keys - We dive into why the 6 chord is so important when understanding the minor sound in general, and we do this by looking at its Note Hierarchy compared to the 1 chord.
Part 2 - Two Mindsets with Minor Keys - Two different mindsets when it comes to thinking about and discussing chord progressions in a minor key. Both are useful and you will encounter both in your musical life, so you need to know how to approach them.
Part 3 - Chord Voicings - The chord possibilities of the 6 chord, which are also pretty typical for every minor chord you may come across, regardless of it being a 6 or not.
Part 4 - Progressions, and the 6 / 4 Connection - We will start looking at progressions that feature the 6 chord. We will start by looking at one of the most popular modern uses, and that is pairing it with the 4 chord.
Part 5 - Progressions, and the "5 of 6" Chord - A very important out of the key chord that is closely associated with the 6 chord. This is a "Set Up" chord that is commonly used to transition to the 6 chord, as well as many others.
Part 6 - Leads, Playing Over 6 to 4 - Basic ideas for playing lead/solos/melodies over the 6 chord. We also go over soloing through the very common chord change of 6 to 4.
Part 7 - Leads, Playing Over the 5 of 6 - We go over some basic ways to play over the very common set up chord known as the "5 of 6". This chord is out of the key so it does require some different mindsets.
Part 8 - Using These Concepts over a 12 Bar Blues - Everything we have talked about so far with the 6 chord (the minor sound, minor keys, 6 and 4 connection, 5 of 6 chords) and demonstrate it all over a very common sound, 12 bar blues.
