Intro - A short description of what we will accomplish in this series
Lesson Guide - Downloadable PDF to keep track of your progress throughout the series
Prelude | Notes on the E and A strings - Developing strategies to memorize the notes on the E and A string (mandatory for the rest of the method)
*Available for Free*
Notes on the Neck - Using Octave shapes, we will learn the easiest strategy to find any note anywhere on the neck
Side A | Practicing Over Music - We use a song to practice these note locations in small chunks.
Side B | Practicing Efficiently - By working on multiple things at once, we develop efficient practicing habits.
Side C | Writing with Octaves - An example of how these octave shapes can be used in various styles of music, instead of only a tool to memorize note locations

The Major Scale - We learn the most important collection of notes in history, which will be the foundation for pretty much everything you have every heard.
Side A | Why Sharps (#) and Flats (b) Exist - We discuss why they exist, and when they should be used accordingly.
Side B | Articulation on One String - Using the Major Scale on one string, we start using articulation techniques like bending, sliding, hammers/pulls, vibrato, etc.
Side C | Keeping the Root Ringing - We go over a great way to be your own backing track when practicing by keeping an open string ringing while you play on another.
Side D | Writing With the Major Scale - Using the major scale, I demonstrate the process of building an idea
The Note Hierarchy - A crucial step to understanding why some notes sound "right" and others sound "wrong". This is a topic we will revisit many times in the future
Side A | Practicing The Hierarchy - I showcase practicing The Note Hierarchy and guitar technique at the same time.
Side B | Keeping the Root Ringing - We discuss how important it is to ALWAYS have the root of the chord you are playing over in your head and in your hands.
Side C | Song Examples- A bunch of songs that showcase The Note Hierarchy, and why melodies sound the way they do.
Minor and Dominant 7 - As we continue working with the note locations and the Note Hierarchy, it is important to visit some other sounds that are not Major. We start with Minor and Dominant 7
Side A | Songs that use Minor and Dominant 7 - We discuss three songs that use Minor and three songs that use Dom 7.
Side B | Playing Non-Chord Tones - In this lesson we go over how to focus and bring out the Non-Chord Tones over major and minor, which will give you more access to these sounds if you want to add more color to your melodies or general playing.
Side C | Writing with Minor - Similar to a previous video, I showcase the process of coming up with an idea on one string. This one will be more of a "rock" or "metal" sound.
Ear Training - An absolutely mandatory and unavoidable topic when it comes to being a musician. We talk about how to get started and the appropriate mindset for building your ears.
Side A | Finding a Single Note - We discuss how to hear and recognize a single note by ear, and find it quickly and consistently on the fretboard.
Side B | Simple Solo by Ear - In this lesson, we will utilize everything we have learned so far to figure out a simple solo by ear.
Side C | Finding the Key of a Song - We go over a few tricks to figuring out the key of a song. In the early stages this will take some trial and error, but if you do it all of the time and think logically about it, the process will eventually take mere seconds.
